Providence Grove Lane Stream Repairs

MMI was approached by a landowner in Providence Plantation, an older southeast Charlotte neighborhood. They have a perennial stream flowing through their backyard and were losing their backyard fence due stream bank erosion. Recently large storms had eroded much of the stream bank which needed repairs. MMI coordinated with the regulatory agencies to determine the work didn’t need formal permitting. MMI designed and implemented the stream repairs in September 2025. The work included removing the iron fence, rebuilding the eroded streambank and installing native rock and riprap to stabilize the streambanks. The homeowner was quoted saying “You exceeded my expectations!”
