ABOUT MOGENSEN MITIGATION

Mogensen Mitigation, Inc., is a private stream and wetland environmental consulting company with offices in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.

​

MMI was established in 2011 to provide stream and wetland consulting as well as threatened and endangered species consulting services to private and public entities. In 2013 we acquired Robert J. Goldstein & Associates, Inc. and Gerald Pottern joined MMI as Senior Ecologist. We have an office in Charlotte and in the Raleigh area.

Qualifications & Expertise

Gerald has 30 years of experience in stream and wetland science, endangered species surveys and US-FWS consultation, Clean Water Act 404-401 permitting, NEPA and SEPA environmental impact documents, natural resource inventory and conservation plans, water quality studies, riparian zone assessment, restoration site planning and monitoring, and environmental education. As a consultant, he is well-versed in federal and state environmental regulations and natural resource field assessment and documentation methods, and secondary and cumulative impact mitigation planning.  Gerald assists clients in designing projects to meet environmental agency objectives and permit requirements, and has prepared NC-CWMTF and NC-PARTF grant applications for riparian conservation and water quality improvement projects. He served on the Scientific Council to the NC Nongame Wildlife Advisory Committee, has conducted numerous surveys of fish, invertebrates, and plants for scientific and educational purposes, and leads ecological field trips for educational events.
